Happy New Year 2012! The year of 2011 had been so colorful, I have so much to be thankful for over this past year! Some highlights of 2011 : Being hospitalized for a surgery – Getting married and had 3 weddings in Bali and Bangkok – Honeymoon and family trips to Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, and Bangkok – and as I’m writing this post, I’m having this little baby in my tummy, that is due on March 2012!
I would also like to take this opportunity to thank all my blog readers for the love and support during this year, I know I’m not as productive as I used to be, but I’m hoping to write more about the beauty of Bali in the year of 2012. There are just too many places and spots that still haven’t been revealed and told! Please stay with me as I’m revealing Bali best kept secrets…
One of Bali’s most favorite culinary spot in Jimbaran area is the by the sea side seafood restaurants, either in Muaya Beach, near Four Seasons Resorts, or the other spot in Kedonganan. For some people, seafood dining is not a very cheap option, the price for one kg of shrimp could reach Rp 170,000 and you don’t just order rice + shrimp when you eat seafood. And because most of the restaurants lining up at these spots have the kitchen located near the sitting area, it is not surprised your hair, your cloth will smell like a grilled fish when you get back to the hotel.
We are glad to find this one and only cafe called Wali Beach Cafe, located at the end of Kelan Beach, with a spectacular view of fishermen boats, white sand beach, children playing on the sand, so tranquil and far from the busy streets with big buses of tourists and most importantly..it’s grilled fish smell and smoke free! Giving it’s very special location, Wali Beach Cafe is an ideal place to hold a special event, ie. wedding, party, group dinner, as they are ready to set up the place and make it your celebration spot, like..our wedding that took place here a while ago. It has a very romantic background setting with spectacular sunset to enjoy after our wedding ceremony. The sky was magical that day…

Price is relatively lower than those cafes in Muaya and Kedonganan Beach, plus WBC has some set menu options to choose should you wish to book the place for your event with limited budget per person. I would strongly suggest to make a booking at least one day before if you are going to enjoy seafood at WBC. This is not a touristy seafood resto, and not too popular either, so you want to make sure when you call to book, that they provide only fresh and catch of the day fish or shrimp. Sometimes it’s a bit tricky in Bali, they always say the fish is fresh, but you know they’re not – only by looking at them before they grill them.
Bali and its culinary spots are growing…By the time I write this post, Benny just told me there are now two new restaurants, adding more competitors to WBC.

Thanks Veny! Don’t forget to bring your camera too, there’s a lot of great shots to make at this incredible place! Come back to Bali, dong…
Oh … I missed the beach
Hi Bee
I just stumbled upon your blog a few days ago – lots of great Bali info. I’ll definitely pay Wali beach cafe a visit next time I’m in the Jimbaran area.
I can tell from the above post that you probably have your hands full at the moment – good luck with that:), but I hope you get the time to do some more writing in the future. I’ll be sure to come back in the future.
/S
Hi Stefan, yes apologize for the long hiatus, I just had a baby (boy!) and overwhelmed with being a new parent! I hope this will deter you from exploring my other posts, and please do come back some other time as I’m preparing some new posts on Bali’s best kept secret spots! Cheers!
Hello Bee,
Superb! Can u please share to me some more details about those raw secluded beaches in Bali. I am one of those who cry for the commercialization of the beauty of Bali natural beaches. I would appreciate if you could send me an email to ikertapati@gmail.com for further correspondence. Many thanks beforehand
Hi @Sunsetter stay tuned for the reveal of the secret beach soon on this blog!
Hi Bee,
Very nice your blog. I am living in Bali also and I work as a professional surfing videographer. I was impressed with this photograph with a surfer surfing with this piece of wood. Could you tell me more about it? Do you know who is he?
Thanks a lot
Joyce
Hi Joyce! haha it’s actually just local boy having fun with a piece of wood or broken surfboard, on the day of our wedding celebrated at Wali Beach Cafe. Benny aka Bart, my hubby just couldn’t pass this moment happen only in Bali. Perhaps if you walk down the Kelan Beach and just watch those fishermen and local boys playing around on their ‘beach backyard’ you’ll get to meet this ‘incredible surfer’? :p Thanks for stopping by!
Hey Bee,
Thanks for all the great info on Bali. Coming on holiday soon. Which do you consider the best beach for topless sunbathing?
wow. your photos looks so nice. what is the range of the price? I’m kinda sick of Jimbaran’s Seafood cafe and it would be nice if I could try new restaurants while I’m in Bali.
Is there any recommendation? Or do you have skype so I could ask things regarded Bali 🙂 thanks 🙂
Hi Bee, glad you’re back with more informative and very well written blog on Bali. I really enjoyed reading this post and it DOES bring back memories to the most beautiful wedding I’ve ever attended so far 🙂
Gita! Our beach wedding is so memorable because you were there to witness this union of love. Thank you again!
